Profile

He earned a B.S. and an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Seoul National University (SNU). He entered the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) where he received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science.

Since the Fall of 2007, he has been a full professor in the School of Electrical Engineering. In the Spring of 2003, he joined SNU as an associate professor. Before he came to SNU, he had been in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) as an associate professor for one year and an assistant professor for two and a half years. Right before he joined KAIST, he had been an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) for two years. He had also been affiliated to UIUC as a research faculty member and as a post-doctoral research associate.
